Contributors, Marie Bartlett

Marie Bartlett has dedicated more than 25 years of her life as a creative nonfiction writer and public relations consultant. Born in Melbourne, Australia to an Australian mother and an American father, she has four published non-fiction books, hundreds of feature articles in print and four books, based upon true stories, she produced as a ghost-writer. She also serves as a consultant to clients who set out to write their own books and stories.
A former member of the American Society of Journalists & Authors (ASJA), she is now a member of the Western Writers of America. She earned a Masters degree in Education from Western Carolina University, not far from her home outside of Asheville, North Carolina.
Pearl, MD is her first novel, which evolved from many years as a nonfiction researcher and a love of history, especially the late 19th century. A sequel is planned in which her main character travels west to the Arizona Territory in 1884.
Marie’s published books include:
  • Trooper Down: Life & Death on the Highway Patrol (Algonquin Books, 1991)
  • Flight for Life (Pocket Books, NY, 1993)
  • Gifts from Shane (iUniverse, 2002)
