They’ve been mixing magic and mischief to create fantastic and entertaining thrills for families and the community at their Haunted House for a long time – so they know their stuff!
Here Are A Few Of Tips:
  • – Use black makeup to blacken out your eyes.
  • – Put fishnet stockings over your head, use a sponge and cream Halloween paint or make-up and dab over face, carefully take off, it will look like scales on your face.
  • – Paint face white, put Maroon cream make-up around your eyes to look dead.
  • – Use black make-up to darken all of the natural “sunken” areas of the face including under the cheek bones, eyes and around the nose.
  • – To make a bruise use dark blue and red cream make-up from the your local party store. Take a sponge and dab in an area till it looks like a bruise then add a little green and yellow around the edges for an authentic look.

Conner Prairie Celebrations and Events – Memorable Moments For All

Time for family fun and one of our favorite places to visit throughout the year is Conner Prairie. Among the events we have always loved is the Glorious 4th at Conner Prairie. Come join the festivities and slip back in time as you explore this engaging Indiana settlement.
The 19th-century village is a fun lace for families to explore and interact with the people, animals, objects and routines of life in Central Indiana in 1836. Visit a one-room schoolhouse, help with chores or watch a tradesperson at work. Meet up with local folks like the blacksmith and ladies weaving. Each trip is different and a chance to learn new skills taught by those in the village. Another treat are the charming stories of days gone by.
Living history can be discovered around every corner. Imagine life in Indiana during the Civil War – it was on July 8, 1863 when Confederate General John Hunt Morgan and his forces crossed the Ohio River into Indiana. Our forces fought, and there are soldiers roaming the village, who will share their tales of triumph and tragedy. Oh yes, children will have a blast join the forces and prepare to defend the Prairie!
As enjoy settles across the rolling fields everyone begins to gather for a evening filled with music – it’s the annual Symphony on the Prairie! This festive event takes place throughout the summer and is a perfect for a evening picnic enjoying great music. With over 30 concerts featured, there’s certain to be one of your favorite artist to be showcased during the season.
What makes Conner Prairie a unique experience is the joy you see in those you meet throughout the village. They make the experience enjoyable and educational – perfect for families and anyone who loves history. Whether you come out for a day, a festive event, or for the wonderful concerts during Symphony on the Prairie you’ll find a memorable await on each visit!
Look forward to seeing you back in time at Conner Prairie!

Sheppard Claims Ninth Win In DIRTcar Summer Nationals At Terre Haute

Folks were on the edge of their seats the DIRTcar Summer Nationals in Terre Haute, Indiana to catch the action at Brandon Sheppard and the Rocket1 Racing team claimed their ninth win! Regardless of the track or who the competition is, Brandon Sheppard along with Rocket1 Racing team have dominanted track after track this season.

In the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series tour anything can happen. This season it’s Sheppard, who has earned the win and extended his lead in the overall championship. “The Rocket Shepp” blasted to the lead in the Series’ second-ever visit to historic half-mile Terre Haute and methodically paced the field over a hard-charging Bobby Pierce and Darrell Lanigan, who garnered his 10th top-10 finish of the season.
Sheppard set fast time in his Qualifying group, and took the Drydene Heat race and redrawing the pole. Then – he took off like a Rocket and, at one point, opened up a near-four-second advantage over his competition. Leading all 30 caution-free laps for $10,000, Sheppard made it look easy. He entered several waves of lapped traffic but disposed of each one with ease, giving him the separation he needed to build a cushion around his large lead.
Congradulations to Sheppard – with this win he’s earned his second Summer Nationals win of the year – the other coming just 10 days ago at Jacksonville Speedway in his family-owned #B5 machine. “It’s a dream season,” Sheppard said. “I hope we can keep it rolling.”
Next on the schedule for the Outlaws is the beginning of the Northern swing, as the Series visits the state of Iowa for the first time this year at Independence Motor Speedway on Friday, July 5. Afterwards, they head off to Minnesota for a clash at the Deer Creek Speedway on Saturday, July 6.
